These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of golfempire.co.uk and the services we provide. By using the site you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Cookies Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Golf Empire is an online directory of amateur open golf competitions hosted by independent golf clubs and tournament organisers across the UK. We list these events and provide tools to help you find and enter them.

Golf Empire is not the organiser of any competition listed on our site. When you click "enter" on a listing, you are taken to the host club's own entry system. The host club is responsible for running the competition, taking your entry fee, providing the playing experience, awarding prizes and handling any cancellations or refunds.

Golf Empire does not warrant or guarantee:

• That any event listed will go ahead as advertised;
• That event information (dates, fees, format, conditions) is accurate or current;
• That the host club will accept your entry;
• The conduct of any third-party booking system or payment processor.

You should always verify event details directly with the host club before entering or travelling.

By using the site you agree:

• To provide accurate, current and complete information when creating an account, subscribing to our newsletter, or completing any entry form;
• Not to use the site for any unlawful, harmful or fraudulent purpose;
• Not to attempt to access non-public areas of the site or interfere with its operation;
• Not to use automated scraping tools to extract data from the site. Limited crawling in accordance with our robots.txt is permitted; bulk scraping is not;
• Not to copy, republish or commercially exploit content from the site without our written permission;
• Not to impersonate any other person or entity.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the site at our discretion if you breach these Terms.

Some features of Golf Empire require you to create a free account or a paid Premium membership. When you create an account:

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
• You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at info@golfempire.co.uk.

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Premium membership and to make payments through the site.

Premium memberships are paid subscriptions giving access to search+, calendar view, recently-listed alerts, favourites, members' discounts and other premium features.

Payment processing. Payments are processed by Stripe via our membership platform Memberstack. Golf Empire never sees or stores your full card details. By subscribing you agree to the Stripe and Memberstack terms of service in addition to these Terms.

Recurring billing. Premium memberships renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected) until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account area — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you will retain access until that date.

Refunds. Under UK consumer law you have a 14-day right to cancel a new Premium subscription and receive a full refund, provided you have not significantly used the service in that period. After the 14-day cooling-off period, subscriptions are non-refundable except at our discretion.

Changes to pricing. We may change the price of Premium membership from time to time. Any price changes will apply from your next renewal and we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect.

When you enter a competition listed on Golf Empire, your entry fee is paid directly to the host golf club, not to Golf Empire. The host club's own terms apply to your entry.

Any questions about your entry — including changes, refunds, cancellations, tee times, dress code or prizes — should be directed to the host club, not to Golf Empire. The contact details for each host club appear on the relevant event listing.

All content on Golf Empire — including text, images, course reviews, logos, layout and code — is owned by or licensed to Golf Empire Limited and is protected by UK and international copyright and trade mark law.

You may:

• View and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use;
• Share links to specific pages on social media or in private correspondence;
• Quote brief extracts with clear attribution and a link back to the source page.

You may not:

• Reproduce, republish, mirror, distribute or commercially exploit any content without our prior written permission;
• Use any Golf Empire trade marks, logos or branding without permission;
• Remove or alter copyright or other proprietary notices.

If you submit content to Golf Empire (for example, a course review, an event submission, a comment or feedback), you confirm that:

• The content is your own and you have the right to submit it;
• It is accurate and not misleading;
• It does not infringe anyone else's rights or break any law.

By submitting content you grant Golf Empire a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, edit, display and distribute that content on the site and in our marketing communications. You retain ownership of your content.

We reserve the right to edit, remove or refuse to publish any submitted content at our discretion.

The site contains links and content from third parties (host clubs, tour operators, advertisers, partners). We don't control these third parties and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, products, services or privacy practices. Visiting third-party sites is at your own risk and subject to their own terms.

Mentions of products or services on the site, including in advertisements served by our advertising partners (Google AdSense, Snack Media / MediaDrive), are not endorsements by Golf Empire unless explicitly stated.

The site is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to keep it accurate, current and operational, but we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely up to date.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Golf Empire will not be liable to you for:

• Indirect or consequential losses (including loss of profits, business interruption, or wasted expenditure);
• Losses arising from your reliance on event information that turns out to be inaccurate or out of date;
• Losses arising from the acts or omissions of any host club, tournament organiser, payment processor or other third party;
• Losses arising from your inability to access the site;
• Losses caused by viruses or other harmful material accessed via the site.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:

• Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
• Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
• Any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under UK law.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other UK consumer protection law.

You agree to indemnify Golf Empire against any claims, losses, damages or expenses (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the site, or any content you submit.

We may terminate or suspend your access to the site (including any membership) at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms or if we cease offering the service. On termination, the provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive (including sections 7, 10 and 11) will continue to apply.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always show when they were most recently revised. Your continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. Significant changes (for example, to Premium membership pricing or terms) will be notified to active members by email.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under or in connection with them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
