South Wales is the heart of championship golf in the principality, anchored by Royal Porthcawl — widely regarded as the finest course in Wales, three-time host of the Senior Open Championship (2014, 2017 and 2023), host of the 1995 Walker Cup and the 2025 AIG Women's Open, and a venue with seven Amateur Championships to its name.
