Thorndon Park and Orsett — both Harry Colt designs from the early 1920s — sit at the top tier alongside Abridge, while Frinton brings genuine seaside character to the east coast as one of the few true links-influenced courses in the county.
With the M25, M11, A12 and A13 all running through Essex and extensive rail links from London, it's one of the most accessible counties in the country for visiting competitors.
