The Heartland — Perth & Kinross, Angus and Fife — is the historic core of Scottish golf. Alongside our featured trio of Strathmore, Crail Golfing Society and Blairgowrie, the open calendar takes in Open Championship venue Carnoustie, the multi-course St Andrews Links, Ladybank and Final Qualifying venue Lundin — a concentration of quality unmatched anywhere else in the country.

Open competitions here are run by clubs within the Angus County, Fife and Perth & Kinross County golf unions, with multi-club fixtures like the Scottish Mixed Pairs Golf Week, the Scottish Golf Pairs Challenge and Edinburgh Golf Week's Heartland equivalents drawing pairs and teams from across the country. Off the course, the East Neuk fishing villages, the cathedral city of St Andrews and the rolling Sidlaws give visiting golfers plenty to fill the gaps between rounds.
