ABOUT THIS VENUE
Entering an open competition at Lancaster offers the chance to play a James Braid-designed parkland course opened in 1933 on the east bank of the River Lune within the grounds of Ashton Hall, the 14th-century Grade I-listed mansion that now serves as the club's spectacular Gothic clubhouse and once belonged to seven generations of the Dukes of Hamilton, with stunning backdrops formed by the Lakeland mountains and the Trough of Bowland.
