"Alwoodley Golf Club is undoubtedly one of Great Britain & Ireland’s leading lights when it comes to inland golf. Very few courses can surpass the debut work of Dr. Alister MacKenzie as a golf course architect in terms of quality, playability, strategy and ultimately as a true test of golf."

Golf Course Reviews in the Yorkshire.
Below you will find our golf course reviews from venues in Yorkshire and Humberside.
Must Plays
Ganton
"Ganton, located in the Vale of Pickering between York and Scarborough, is rightly regarded as one of the UK’s very best inland golf courses with an extremely rich history and a strong sense of tradition. Along with Royal Birkdale and Muirfield these are the only clubs to have staged the Ryder Cup, Walker Cup and Curtis Cup."
Moortown
"The 2016 Yorkshire Amateur County Championship brought me back to Moortown, a course I’ve played numerous times over the past couple of decades but not for at least half a dozen years. With a bunker renovation and extensive tree removal programme completed in the intervening time I was hugely impressed with how the course, which has a nice moorland feel to it, now played following the recent changes."
Highly Recommended
Huddersfield
"Huddersfield Golf Club is probably not given the sufficient coverage it deserves on a national scale. It's a very, very fine golf course. As a regular host to the Yorkshire County Championship, former venue of a European Seniors Tour event and lauded by locals it is well respected within the White Rose County of Yorkshire."
Halifax (Ogden)
"The Halifax Golf Club, often better known as Ogden, is a course that divides opinion. Some people love this fascinating James Braid layout whilst others hate it... and a few even vow never to return! I'm most certainly in the former category and really enjoy golfing at this moorland gem of very high quality."
Lindrick
"With more than 200 golf courses across Yorkshire Lindrink sits very close to the tip of the iceberg when it comes to discussing the best of golf in the White Rose County. It’s one of several fine courses that support the undisputed top trio of Alwoodley, Ganton and Moortown."
Fulford
"The true glory days of Fulford Golf Club may now be behind it but the course still remains a fine and fair test of golf and is undeniably one of Yorkshire’s best venues. Its days of staging 23 consecutive European Tour events in the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s firmly put Fulford on the global golfing map before modern day professional golf ran riot with many of the country’s classic courses."
