Top 100 Golf Courses of the World
Great Britain & Ireland Top 100 - 2020
The Top 100 Golf Courses of the World website published their most recent Great Britain & Ireland Top 100 list in November 2019 and it is redone approximately every two years.
The Top 100 website is an essential resource for golfers looking to play the best golf courses, not just on home soil but around the world. At the top end of the scale it is an extremely well informed ranking which has been honed over the years to be, in our opinion, the most accurate in the business. And whilst not really relative to the purpose of this article it should be stated that the strength of the website is the in-depth detail it goes into for ranking courses down to a regional level across the World! Top 100 is dedicated to ranking golf courses and it does it very well.
In their '2020 edition' there are seven courses that are included in the list but don't feature in the comparable Golf Monthly, National Club Golfer and Golf World rankings. Three of them (Ardfin, Queenwood & JCB) are not the most accessible venues whilst the others are; Castletown, Brora, Dundonald and Delamere Forest.
The only course which is not included on Top 100 but does feature in all three of Golf Monthly, National Club Golfer and Golf World is Moortown.
Without exception the Top 100 website has produced a rock solid list which will only continue to improve over time and should be your main reference point for planning golf at the best courses.
Golf Empire founder, Ed Battye, has played the majority of courses on the list and below you can find links to his golf course reviews.
