Golf Course Overview
Wrekin Golf Club was established in 1905 and sits dramatically in the shadow of The Wrekin hill, adjacent to the ancient Ercall Woods above Wellington. The 18-hole parkland course runs through mature woodland with spectacular and inspiring views across the North Shropshire Plain and beyond. The layout provides a challenging but fair test for golfers of all abilities, its elevated position giving clean drainage and keeping the course playable through much of the year. Tree-lined fairways, natural contours and well-conditioned greens make accuracy off the tee more important than raw distance.
The welcoming clubhouse serves members, visitors and guests with a bar and catering facilities, and the club has a long-standing reputation for friendly informal golf - no tee booking is required for social play. A Golf Reception manages bookings and society enquiries, and the club hosts open competitions, matches and county events. The course is on Golf Links Lane at the top of Ercall Woods, reached via the A5223 and B5061 from Junction 7 of the M54, with Wellington, Telford town centre and Shrewsbury all within a short drive.
