Golf Course Overview
The Worcestershire Golf Club is the oldest golf club in the county, with golf having been played at Malvern Wells since 1879. The existing 18-hole parkland course dates from 1927 and was designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie with Hawtree Ltd, incorporating much of the original 18-hole routing — later revised in 1972 to the layout played today. The course measures around 6,455 yards with a par of 71 and sits at the foot of the Malvern Hills, with elevated tees on several holes opening up panoramic views across the Severn Valley and Cotswolds.
The Worcestershire is a traditional private members' club but welcomes visitors and organised society or company days by prior arrangement. The clubhouse offers bar, restaurant, and social event facilities and is complemented by practice areas and a professional's shop. Sir Edward Elgar is among the club's most famous historical members. The course is located on Wood Farm Road at Malvern Wells, a short drive from Great Malvern off the A449.
