Golf Course Overview
Wareham Golf Club was founded in 1908 and offers an established heathland course on the edge of Wareham Forest, with design heritage attributed to the Whitcombe family of professionals. The 18-hole layout plays to a par of 69 over approximately 5,754 yards, and despite its modest length it rewards accurate driving and delivers a strong challenge through blind tee shots, small multi-tiered greens and some notable uphill and downhill stretches. The course is famed for superb views over the Purbeck Hills, Poole Harbour and Corfe Castle, and the stroke index 1 12th is widely regarded as the most memorable hole.
The club has a comfortable clubhouse with bar, restaurant and function facilities, plus a pro shop and practice areas. Societies, visitors and members are welcomed and the club offers an online booking system as well as society packages. Wareham is located on Sandford Road on the edge of the historic town, with direct rail access via Wareham station and good road access from the A351 and A352.
