Golf Course Overview

Tenby Golf Club is Wales' oldest affiliated golf club, with roots going back to 1875 and formally established in 1888. The classic 18-hole links course was redesigned by James Braid in 1907 with more recent alterations by Donald Steel, and plays to 6,530 yards to a par of 70 (par 75 for ladies). Running alongside Tenby's South Beach with spectacular views over Carmarthen Bay to the monastic Caldey Island, Tenby's tight fairways, fast running greens and thick rough combined with the prevailing westerly winds provide an endlessly varied challenge. Black Rock dominates the finishing holes and the course has been voted 10th in the best-value courses in the UK by Golf Monthly. Tenby has hosted the Welsh Amateur Championship on numerous occasions, the 2006 Welsh PGA, the 2008 Senior Home Internationals and the 2010 Welsh Amateur.

The club offers on-site Dormy House accommodation with seven twin-bedded en-suite rooms, plus a recently renewed modern clubhouse with bar and home-cooked food, snooker room, and well-stocked pro shop and Teaching Academy run by resident PGA professional Rhys Harry. Practice facilities include a practice ground, practice green and chipping green. Buggy, club and caddie hire are all available. Tenby is just ten minutes walk from the medieval walled town centre and on the route of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.
