Golf Course Overview

Sunningdale Heath Golf Club was founded in 1902 as Sunningdale Ladies' Golf Club by Edward Ernest Villiers, a member of Sunningdale Golf Club, to provide an independent course for women who were excluded from the main club. Designed by Harry Colt, the 18-hole heathland course plays to a par of 58 over approximately 3,705 yards with 14 par-3s and just four par-4s — believed to have the most Colt-designed par-3s of any course in existence. The longest par-4 stretches only 328 yards, making this a demanding test of iron play and accuracy, typically completed in under three hours. Seven members of the Royal Family have held official positions at the club, including two future Queens: HRH The Duchess of York (later Queen Mother) was Captain in 1932 and Patron for 54 years.

The club was renamed Sunningdale Heath in 2016 following its acquisition by PGA professionals Kristian Baker and Tom Reid, with CDP commissioned to review Colt's original design. The current clubhouse, constructed in 1972, offers a bar open to members and non-members, plus state-of-the-art custom fitting facilities and professional tuition. Located on Cross Road in Sunningdale adjacent to its more famous namesake, close to the M3 and M25.
