Golf Course Overview

Sturminster Marshall Golf Club opened in 1992 and is often referred to locally as "Dorset's Little Gem". It is a 9-hole parkland course with two sets of tees, allowing an 18-hole round to be played at a par of 64 over around 3,911 yards from the whites, with a 9-hole par of 32 over 1,904 yards. The layout is set amongst mature trees with a couple of attractive lakes coming into play, making for a genuinely rural feel despite the excellent accessibility from main roads. The course offers a fair test of iron play and is praised as ideal for beginners, juniors, seniors and anyone looking for a quick or less demanding round.

The club has a recently revamped clubhouse with bar, restaurant and patio, together with changing facilities, pro shop, chipping and putting greens and academy facilities for coaching. Visitors, societies and members are all welcomed, and the friendly atmosphere is consistently highlighted in reviews. Sturminster Marshall is located on Moor Lane at the edge of the village, signposted from the A350 Poole to Blandford road, making it easily reached from Poole, Wimborne and Blandford Forum.
