 Golf Course Overview

Slaley Hall is set within 1,000 acres of Northumbrian forest and moorland on the Samuel Hunting estate, south of Hexham. The resort offers two championship courses. The Hunting Course, designed by Dave Thomas, opened its first nine in 1989 with the full 18 completed in 1990; it measures approximately 7,088 yards from the championship tees with a par of 72 and is often nicknamed "The Augusta of the North" thanks to its sweeping fairways, banks of rhododendrons, towering trees, lakes and streams. The Priestman Course, designed by former PGA Chairman Neil Coles with David Williams, opened in May 1999 and extends to roughly 6,951 yards at par 72, set on higher ground across 280 acres on the western side of the estate with panoramic views across the Tyne Valley and toward the Cheviot Hills.

Between them, the two courses have hosted more than 20 European Tour, European Seniors Tour, PGA Cup and Asian Tour events. Practice facilities include a floodlit driving range, two putting greens, a short-game area and the Claret Jug clubhouse with bar, restaurant and outdoor terrace. The estate is a full four-star hotel and spa with 139 rooms, making it popular for golf breaks and corporate events. Slaley Hall is reached via the A68 and B6306 south of Corbridge and Hexham.
