Golf Course Overview
St Enodoc Golf Club was founded in 1891 and offers two 18-hole links courses amid glorious natural sand dunes at Rock, overlooking the Camel Estuary with Padstow visible across the water and the Atlantic to the north. The championship Church Course was reshaped by James Braid from 1907 with further updates by Tom Simpson, Weller Designs and Peter McEvoy in 2006, and measures 6,557 yards to a par of 69. It has been ranked inside the world's top 100 courses and famously hosts the Himalaya bunker at the 6th — one of the largest in the UK — alongside the 10th hole that finishes beside the ancient St Enodoc church (where the poet laureate John Betjeman is buried), and the par-three 15th with its road-crossing green. The shorter Holywell Course, designed by Braid in 1928 and also refined in 2006, plays to 4,082 yards and offers a friendlier but still enjoyable links challenge with no handicap restriction.
The clubhouse serves breakfast from 8.30am, with a full menu from 11.30am to 4.30pm, a welcoming bar and lounge and two outdoor seating areas. Facilities include a pro shop, practice ground, PGA professional tuition, medical-certificate-only buggies and caddies by arrangement. Handicap index limits of 21.4 for men and 22.7 for ladies apply on the Church Course. St Enodoc has hosted the English County Finals in 2005 and the English Women's Amateur Championship in 2014. The club is located at Rock near Wadebridge, a short drive from the famous sailing town of Rock itself.
