Golf Course Overview
Redditch Kingfisher Golf Club was formed in 1978 and is based at Pitcheroak Golf Course, a municipal course originally established in 1913 to a design by five-time Open champion James Braid. The nine-hole, 18-tee course measures around 4,561 yards with a par of 67 (or 62 depending on tee configuration) and is set on sandy ground amongst mature oak woodland — a rare subsoil for the clay-based Redditch area that keeps the course playable year-round. Strategic doglegs, testing slopes, and natural tree hazards reward accuracy and short-game skill rather than raw distance.
The traditional pavilion includes male and female changing facilities, a licensed bar, and catering at the Greenview Bar & Café, alongside a pro shop with new and second-hand equipment and a nine-hole putting green. Club and trolley hire are available, no dress code is enforced, and pay-and-play is welcome without booking. The course sits on Plymouth Road close to the centre of Redditch, easily reached from Junction 2 of the M42.
