Golf Course Overview
Queen's Park Golf Course was established in 1905 with a course attributed to five-time Open champion J.H. Taylor, and has long been regarded as Bournemouth's premier public pay-and-play course. The 18-hole parkland layout plays to a par of 71 over approximately 6,132 yards through mature, undulating woodland with tree-lined fairways and contoured greens that reward good course management. A former European Tour venue, it has hosted high-profile events featuring the likes of Bobby Locke, Sir Henry Cotton, Tony Jacklin and a young Severiano Ballesteros, and the excellent natural drainage keeps the course playable when many others close.
Operated by BCP Council, Queen's Park welcomes casual visitors, societies and has an active members' club with its own fixture list. Facilities include a pro shop, practice area, and the Woodpecker Café in the pavilion offering bar service, meals and snacks throughout the day. The course sits within Queen's Park, a Green Flag open space at the heart of Bournemouth, accessed from Queen's Park West Drive off Wessex Way, with signage from Charminster and the wider Bournemouth town.
