 Golf Course Overview

Portmore Golf Park is a family-run parkland venue set on the outskirts of Barnstaple and converted from a former dairy farm into a thriving golf facility. The site offers two courses: the main 18-hole Barum Course plays to a par of 71 over 6,289 yards from the blue tees, with water hazards coming into play on eight holes and USGA-specification greens that remain open year-round without temporary greens in the winter; and the nine-hole par-3 Landkey Course, which has been renovated in recent years to offer a strong test of short-game accuracy and a more approachable layout for beginners. Both courses occupy an elevated hillside position with panoramic views across Barnstaple and the surrounding North Devon countryside.

On-site facilities are headlined by a 23-bay floodlit, covered Toptracer-powered driving range stretching over 310 yards, together with a teaching studio, a putting green, a short-game area, Power Tees and a well-stocked pro shop. The welcoming clubhouse is open to the public and is renowned locally for its Sunday carvery and locally-sourced menu, with conference and function rooms also available for hire for weddings, business events and parties. Tuition is offered by a PGA professional, and the club was named Environmental Golf Club of the Year in 2010 for its sustainability work. Portmore sits on Landkey Road roughly one mile east of Barnstaple, just off the A361.
