Such a warm welcome. Special feel on the first tee. Spectacular setting. Too many holes that I would say are amazing. Short and friendly off the standard tees making the short approach shots more interesting. Landing in the correct spots is key. Plenty of space off the tees. Caddie was great (Stuart). I can’t wait to go back. Iv played the old course and birkdale and this stands up. The final 6 holes were special.

Golf Course Overview
The North Berwick Golf Club was founded in 1832 and is the 13th-oldest golf club in the world, with only St Andrews hosting continuous play over the same course for longer. The West Links, set on the edge of the Firth of Forth, is among the most celebrated seaside courses on earth, with golf played on the ground since the 17th century. The par-71 layout extended progressively westwards through the 19th century, with notable work by Ben Sayers in 1932, and features an extraordinary collection of idiosyncratic holes including the par-4 "Pit" (the 13th) where an old stone wall stands directly in front of the green, the par-4 "Perfection" (14th) demanding a blind approach, and – above all – the world-famous 15th "Redan," the most copied par-3 in golf course architecture.
The West Links has hosted Final Qualifying for The Open, and the men's and women's Amateur Championships, and North Berwick became the first club to admit women, although full membership rights were extended in 2005. Facilities include a welcoming pro shop and modern clubhouse at Beach Road, caddies by prior arrangement (no buggies permitted on the undulating terrain), practice areas, restaurant and bar. The course sits right in the heart of the town of North Berwick, a short walk from the train station.
