Golf Course Overview
Moor Park Golf Club is a historic 36-hole members' club set on a 300-acre estate of mature woodland and parkland just outside Rickmansworth. Both championship courses – the High and the West – were designed by Harry Colt and opened in 1923. The longer High Course plays to a par 72 of around 7,061 yards and consistently features in national top-100 rankings, having hosted the Women's British Open in 1985, the Carris Trophy and regional Open Championship qualifying, as well as the PGA Seniors Championship in 2024 and 2025. The shorter West Course plays to around 6,427 yards and is regarded as a shot-maker's course with trickier approaches to well-protected greens.
The club's clubhouse is the magnificent Moor Park Mansion, a Grade I listed Palladian building originally built for the 3rd Earl of Bedford, with ornate painted halls and the historic Arnhem Room. Facilities extend beyond golf to 13 tennis courts, a full programme of social events, weddings, private dining and corporate hospitality. The club has around 1,500 members, of whom roughly 1,000 are golfers. Moor Park is about half a mile from Moor Park underground station on the Metropolitan line and around three miles from junctions 17 and 18 of the M25.

Golf Empire Verdict
Moor Park
"Moor Park in Rickmansworth has two golf courses attached to its classy country club style estate."
Both courses – the West and the High – were designed by Harry Colt in 1923 and on my most recent visit to Hertfordshire I sampled the “High”.
