Golf Course Overview
La Moye Golf Club sits on the south-west cliffs of Jersey at Saint Brélade and was founded in 1902 by George Boomer, the local schoolmaster who famously taught future Open Champions Harry Vardon and Ted Ray. The course was redesigned by five-time Open winner James Braid in the early 1930s and reopened by Vardon himself, then all but destroyed during the German occupation of Jersey in World War II. Major renovations followed in the 1960s and 70s under the guidance of three-time Major champion Henry Cotton, with further modernisation by Martin Hawtree in 2012. The result is a classic links measuring around 6,665 yards to a par of 72 for men and 74 for ladies, with every hole offering views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding Channel Islands.
The clubhouse was extensively refurbished in 2018 and provides dining, function and bar facilities with panoramic sunset views over St Ouen's Bay. Members and visitors have access to a driving range (also open to the public), a short-game practice area, a putting green and teaching from the club professionals. La Moye has a proud tournament heritage, having hosted the Rediffusion Tournament between 1963 and 1966, the European Tour's Jersey Open from 1978 to 1995 and the European Senior Tour's Jersey Seniors Classic since 1996. The course lies a short drive from Jersey Airport and the holiday resort of St Brelade's Bay.

Golf Empire Verdict
La Moye
"I was fortunate enough to play La Moye twice on a quick golf trip to the Channel Islands."
The course, sited at St. Brelade overlooking St. Ouens’ Bay, is one of three top courses on the Islands but the only one that is a genuine contender for being included in a Great Britain & Ireland Top 100 list.
