Golf Course Overview
Knighton Heath Golf Club was founded in 1933 and sits on elevated heathland on the western edge of Bournemouth. The 18-hole layout was substantially remodelled by renowned course architect Simon Gidman in 2002 and now plays to a par of 70 over around 6,074 yards. It combines traditional heathland characteristics with narrow, tree-lined fairways, well-kept bunkers and fast, true greens — the elevated positions across the course also reward members and visitors with fine views across the surrounding area. Accuracy and course management count for more than outright length, making it an engaging test for all abilities.
The club offers a welcoming clubhouse with comfortable bar and dining facilities, a well-stocked pro shop, and tuition from PGA professionals. Visitors and societies are welcomed, and the calendar features a programme of open competitions and member events. Knighton Heath is located on Francis Avenue in the Kinson area of Bournemouth, easily reached from the A3049 Wallisdown Road and the A338 Wessex Way.
