Golf Course Overview

Howley Hall Golf Club was founded in 1900 and named after the Elizabethan mansion whose ruins still stand adjacent to the 17th fairway. Dr Alister MacKenzie advised on improvements in 1913, and further course development by Jonathan Gaunt from 2013 onwards has added an ornamental pond at the dog-leg 12th and a striking island-green approach at the 16th. Originally heathland but now a parkland layout with an abundance of mature trees, the 18-hole course plays to a par of 71 at 6,454 yards with a slope of 137, and its four finishing holes are widely considered among the best in Yorkshire.

The recently refurbished clubhouse offers a bar, restaurant and function space suitable for weddings, celebrations and corporate events, with a pro shop led by resident professional Ryan Rastall offering tuition and custom fitting. The club welcomes society golf and visiting parties, with package deals available throughout the year. Howley Hall is located on Scotchman Lane in Morley, a few minutes from both the M62 and M1 motorways south of Leeds.
