Golf Course Overview
Honiton Golf Club was founded in 1896 and is one of the oldest clubs in Devon, originally laid out as a nine-hole course and extended to 18 holes in the early 1900s. The parkland layout plays to a par of 69 and measures approximately 5,922 yards for men and 5,400 yards for ladies. Set on relatively flat ground high above the town, the course is an easy walk and offers sweeping views over East Devon and the Blackdown Hills. The well-drained terrain produces consistently good year-round playing conditions, and the club has a reputation for well-kept greens and a fair challenge across all levels of ability.
Facilities include a fully stocked bar and restaurant open seven days a week, a pro shop, practice area, indoor simulator and coaching facility, and an on-site caravan park for touring visitors. The club was named National Club Awards Golf Club of the Year in 2023 and has a strong tradition of junior development, hosting competitions for members and Open events for visitors. Societies are welcomed year-round. Honiton sits just above the town on Middlehills, a short drive from the town centre and within easy reach of both the A30 and the Jurassic Coast at Sidmouth, Beer and Branscombe.
