Golf Course Overview
Harburn Golf Club traces its origins to 1925 and occupies a rural setting on the northern slopes of the Pentland Hills, around 14 miles west of Edinburgh near the village of West Calder. The 18-hole heathland course sits approximately 870 feet above sea level and plays to around 6,054 yards at par 70, with undulating natural contours framed by mature beech, oak and pine. Water comes into play on the dropping par-4 10th, which descends to a contoured green guarded by a fronting pond, and the elevated setting provides panoramic views in all directions. The course rewards thoughtful shot-making rather than brute length and has earned a reputation as one of the best-kept secrets in the West Lothian area.
Facilities include a bistro-style bar and restaurant that also welcomes non-golfers, a pro shop led by PGA professional Stuart Houlden offering one-to-one and group coaching, custom fitting and club repair, as well as locker rooms, practice putting and chipping greens, a practice bunker and buggy and trolley hire. The club is easily reached from the M8 motorway and lies close to the Livingston Designer Outlet and other central-belt attractions.
