Golf Course Overview

Forest Park Golf Club is York's only 27-hole golf complex, comprising the 18-hole Old Foss course and the 9-hole West course. The Old Foss course opened in 1991 and measures 6,673 yards to a par of 71 with a course rating of 72.7 and a slope of 136, making it one of the more demanding tests in the York area. The West course plays around 6,372 yards to a par of 70. Both are flat, easy-walking parkland layouts with tree-lined fairways, large greens and water features, named after the River Foss that runs through the site.

The club offers a clubhouse with bar and catering, a pro shop, driving range and a full professional service. Forest Park was the first of the newer proprietor-owned clubs to join the York Union of Golf Clubs in 2001, and it has since hosted the senior Inter-District Union six-man championship on two occasions. Located in the village of Stockton-on-the-Forest, it sits 3 to 4 miles north-east of York city centre and is easily reached from the A64 and A1237 ring road.
