Golf Course Overview
Forest of Dean Golf Club was founded in 1973 and sits within the Forest of Dean Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the edge of Coleford. The 18-hole parkland course measures around 5,925 yards to a par of 69 and features rolling fairways, lakes, streams, strategic bunkering and mature woodland, with panoramic views across the surrounding Gloucestershire countryside and towards the Wye Valley. The excellent drainage means the course is rarely affected by waterlogging, and over the years Forest of Dean has hosted the PGA West Region Order of Merit "Forest Classic" tournament.
The club is integrated with Bells Hotel & Country Club, with 53 en-suite bedrooms, a restaurant, bar, pro shop and gym on site, making it popular for golf breaks, society days and weddings. Practice facilities include a putting green, chipping green and driving net. The quaint market town of Coleford is just a short walk away and the club is within an hour's drive of both Bristol and Cardiff, reached via the A40 and A4136.
