 Golf Course Overview

The Forest of Arden Hotel and Country Club is home to two 18-hole courses set on the 10,000-acre Packington Estate, both designed by Donald Steel. The championship Arden Course, originally laid out by Andrew Mair in the 1970s and comprehensively redesigned by Steel in 1992 with further work by Tom MacKenzie and European Golf Design, plays to a par of 72 over 7,213 yards through ancient woodland, open parkland and around natural lakes where Black Fallow Deer roam. The shorter Aylesford Course, a par 69 of 5,801 yards redesigned by Donald Steel and Tim Lobb, shares the same design hallmarks in greens, bunkering and layout. The Arden's signature long par-three closing hole, played across a large pond in front of the hotel, has decided many a tournament.

The Arden Course has a rich tournament heritage, having hosted the English Open four times in the 1990s, the British Masters on three occasions and multiple European Senior Masters events. The resort offers a 214-room four-star hotel, the Cedarwood Spa, an indoor pool, gym, tennis courts and a 16-bay floodlit driving range with short-game academy. Located on the Packington Estate just off the A45, the club is about 30 minutes from Birmingham city centre and close to Birmingham International Airport, the NEC and the M6/M42.
