Golf Course Overview
Forest Hills Golf Club was designed by Adrian Stiff and opened in 1990 on a naturally undulating stretch of parkland just outside Coleford in the Forest of Dean. The par-72 course plays to around 6,412 yards with a slope rating of 134, laid out in two loops of nine with the 1st and 10th tees adjacent to the clubhouse. Sweeping elevation changes, shaped fairways and quick, true greens are framed by panoramic views across Coleford towards the Herefordshire hills, and exceptional drainage means the course remains playable in the depths of winter.
The club is recognised by the PGA and Gloucestershire County as a regional tournament venue, having hosted county team matches and the prestigious Forest Classic, and facilities include a driving range, practice greens, pro shop, tuition, a modern clubhouse with coffee lounge, bar and restaurant, on-site lodges, and function spaces used for weddings, conferences and themed golf events. Forest Hills sits on Mile End Road north of Coleford, easily accessible from the A40, A4136 and M50, and is within easy reach of Bristol, Cardiff, the Cotswolds and Herefordshire.
