Golf Course Overview
Potters Resorts Five Lakes Golf Club sits on Colchester Road at Tolleshunt Knights, midway between Maldon and Colchester in the Essex countryside. The resort is home to two courses: the championship Lakes Course, a Neil Coles-designed layout built to USGA standards measuring 6,841 yards (par 72), where long drives and accurate approaches are needed to score well against prominent water features; and the slightly shorter Links Course (par 71, 6,181 yards), which opened in 1975 and offers plenty of variety through narrower fairways and well-placed greens that demand accurate approach play.
Both courses remain in play throughout the year — with temporary greens in use only occasionally on Lakes par threes — and the facility includes three practice putting greens, a chipping green, an undercover driving range and a dedicated greenside bunker. 7-day members also have full access to the adjoining hotel's country club and swimming pool facilities. Five Lakes has hosted televised Euro Pro Tour events and Essex Amateur competitions, and is roughly 20 minutes from Colchester and 40 minutes from Chelmsford.
