Golf Course Overview

Ferndown Forest Golf Club occupies Forest Links Road on the edge of Ferndown, just north of Bournemouth. The 18-hole parkland course opened in 1983, plays to a par of 67 at 4,760 yards with a course rating of 65.6 and slope of 119. It is designed as a short, strategic layout rather than a long driving course — pure, fast greens and well-placed bunkers mean that scores are often made or lost on the approach. The back nine features par fives that longer hitters can reach in two and drivable par fours where risk-reward temptations play a central role.

Ferndown Forest has been significantly upgraded in recent years and now sits alongside a 16-bay floodlit TopTracer driving range, an indoor simulator, Forest Inn bar/restaurant and beer garden, pro shop, PGA coaching team and two padel tennis courts plus a pickleball court. Visitors, dog walkers and cyclists are all welcome in the bar. Pay-and-play golf operates year-round, and the course is easily reached from the A31 and A338.
