 Golf Course Overview

Falkland Golf Club has a Royal pedigree – the first mention of golf in Falkland dates to 1503 when James V played the Earl of Bothwell while the Royal Court was at Falkland Palace. The present club was established in 1902 and the current layout was rebuilt in 1975. The 9-hole parkland course sits on The Myre common ground in the Howe of Fife, playing 5,124 yards (for 18 holes) with a par of 68, offering a stunning backdrop of Falkland Palace and the Lomond Hills. The opening hole demands an accurate drive to avoid the burn short and out-of-bounds, with nicknamed holes including "The Stream," "The Barn" and tight approaches to small sloping greens with deep bunkers.

The recently refurbished clubhouse features a licensed bar (closed Mondays) and can provide catering for pre-arranged groups, with men's and women's locker rooms and practice areas. Junior golfers receive a 50% discount and visiting green fees start from around £10 for 9 holes. The course is dog-friendly (on leads) and GPS devices are permitted. Located at The Myre in the picturesque village of Falkland just 20 miles from St Andrews, the course is reached off the A912 and is a popular stop for visitors touring Fife.
