Golf Course Overview
Fairwood Park Golf Club was established in 1969 and is set across more than 150 acres of rolling woodland terrain on the Gower Peninsula, 15 minutes from Swansea city centre. The layout was designed by the Hawtree dynasty — the longest continuous golf course architecture practice in the world — and measures around 6,644 yards to a par of 73, making it both the longest and flattest course in the Swansea area. Over 15,000 trees have been planted in the last three decades alongside the creation of numerous man-made lakes, giving the course its distinctive tree-lined character with strategic water hazards and a strong back nine.
Fairwood Park is the only course in the City and County of Swansea to hold genuine PGA Championship status, having hosted the Welsh PGA Championship twice. Facilities include a pro shop, practice range, buggy hire (popular given the course length), and a clubhouse with bar, restaurant and a function room seating up to 100. Societies and visitors are welcome. The club is best reached via Gower Road from Swansea, turning left onto Blackhills Lane — larger vehicles should avoid the narrow Hen Parc Lane approach.
