Golf Course Overview
Eskdale Golf Course is an 18-hole parkland layout tucked into a spectacular valley on the western side of the Lake District. Playing to roughly 5,494 yards with a par of 69, the course benefited from the input of three-time Open Champion Henry Cotton, who held the place in great affection during its development. The signature hole is the 151-yard 14th, where an elevated tee looks across to a green set within a large trout pond demanding real accuracy. The peace and the views of the surrounding fells are as much a feature as the golf itself.
The club has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and caters for visitors with a café, lunch menu, tea and coffee, buggy and trolley hire. It is easily accessed from the A595 coast road, close to Ravenglass, the Eskdale Valley and the historic Muncaster Castle. The La'al Ratty narrow-gauge steam railway also runs through the valley, making Eskdale a popular stop for golfing holidaymakers combining a round with Lake District sightseeing.
