Golf Course Overview
Epsom Golf Club is a traditional private members' club established in 1889, making it one of Surrey's oldest, with historical connections to the famous Epsom Downs racecourse. The 18-hole downland course sits on top of the Downs and plays to a par of 70 over approximately 5,780 yards. Built on chalk subsoil, it is one of Surrey's driest winter courses and remains open when many others close. The course is known for its testing, undulating greens (only the 18th is level) and panoramic views across London on clear days. The natural downland topography produces a course with abundant character, demanding a full repertoire of shots rather than raw distance.
The Edwardian-era clubhouse features a dining area and historic snooker room, and hosts golf days from £35.50 per person, with packages available seven days a week. Visitors and societies are warmly welcomed — the charity golf day has raised over £100,000 for Step by Step, a school for autistic children. Practice facilities include putting and chipping areas, a pro shop and tuition with PGA trainees. Located on Longdown Lane South on Epsom Downs, the club is convenient for the A24 and M25 and close to Epsom and Tattenham Corner rail stations.
