Golf Course Overview
Epping Golf Course is a family-run venue built as a revival of the original Epping Golf Club, with the first nine holes opening in 1995 and the remainder of the 18-hole parkland layout completed gradually thereafter. Brothers Neil and Peter Sjoberg and their families built, own and still run the course, which now features over 17,000 planted trees and 10 water hazards. It plays to a par of 68 at around 5,434 yards from the back tees, with undulating fairways, panoramic views over the Essex countryside and greens widely praised for their quality. The opening two holes are reputed to be the hardest in the county.
The pay-and-play facility offers a membership option and welcomes visitors without strict dress code rules. Short-game facilities include a 150-yard covered driving range, chipping and bunker greens and a 3-hole par-3 course. Daily home-cooked breakfast and lunch are served in the clubhouse, and a function room seating 50 is available for hire. Free beginner lessons run twice a week. The course sits on Flux's Lane within walking distance of Epping town and the Central Line Underground station, with easy access from junction 7 of the M11.
