Golf Course Overview
Entry Hill Golf Course in Bath, Somerset, was the only golf course within the city of Bath — a nine-hole public course of 4,206 yards built on land owned by Bath & North East Somerset Council in 1984, offering a hilly, challenging layout with sloping fairways, doglegs, and strategically placed trees, beloved by residents and visiting golfers alike for its accessible pay-and-play pricing and views across the city. The course closed in 2020 when the leisure operator GLL withdrew during the Covid-19 pandemic, citing sustained financial losses. Plans to transform the site into a mountain bike park (Bath Bike Park) were abandoned in December 2022 due to rising costs and failed funding bids, and the land now exists as an informal open green space used for walking and recreation, with its long-term future remaining undecided.
Closed 2020.
