Golf Course Overview
Eccleston Park Golf Club, on Rainhill Road between Rainhill and St Helens, Merseyside (historically Lancashire), was an 18-hole parkland course of 6,477 yards (par 72) designed by Weller Designs and opened in 1999 on the former farmland of the Rainhill County Asylum, with a distinctive 1880s farmhouse clubhouse. The course closed on 30 June 2018 and Mulbury Homes applied to build up to 1,000 homes, a health centre and nursery on the 123-acre site in the Green Belt; St Helens Council refused permission in 2022 and the former course remains undeveloped.
Closed 2018.
