Golf Course Overview

Easthampstead Golf Club was established in 1975 and is a members' club that plays at the Downshire Golf Complex on the edge of Bracknell. The Downshire course was laid out in mature parkland on land that was once part of royal hunting grounds reputed to have been used by Henry VIII. The par 73 championship course measures around 6,382 yards, with firm tree-lined fairways, well-defined greens and water features that come into play on around thirteen holes. Because the course is owned by Bracknell Forest Council and operated on a pay-and-play basis, Easthampstead members enjoy full handicap golf alongside the general public. The club celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in 2025 and has separately managed men's, ladies' and junior sections, plus an active seniors group.

Facilities at the Downshire Complex include a 30-bay floodlit TrackMan driving range, a nine-hole pitch-and-putt course, two practice putting greens, a well-stocked pro shop and the fully licensed Fairways clubhouse with bar, restaurant and function room. Easthampstead Golf Club members pay an annual subscription that covers handicap services and insurance but not green fees, which are paid to the complex. The venue is located off Nine Mile Ride near Bracknell, easily accessed from junction 3 of the M3 and junction 10 of the M4.
