Golf Course Overview
East Kilbride Golf Club, founded in 1900, is the only private golf club in the rapidly expanding new town of East Kilbride. Following two earlier moves the club has been at its present Nerston location since the late 1960s, with the parkland layout designed by Fred Hawtree and later refinements by Weller Designs and Peter McEvoy in 2008. The 18-hole course measures around 6,402 yards to a par of 71/73, with mature tree-lined fairways, generous landing areas and large greens that are kept in excellent condition. Notable holes include the dog-leg par-4 11th and the long uphill par-5 13th.
The club has a brand-new clubhouse with full bar and catering facilities, a pro shop and practice areas. The course is hosting the Scottish Under 16s Open Championship in 2026. Visitors and societies are welcomed and the course sits in Nerston Village on the northern edge of East Kilbride, signposted from all the main approach roads.
