Golf Course Overview

Durham City Golf Club was founded in 1887 and the Littleburn course is the club's third home within the city, having moved to its current site in November 1974. The delightful parkland layout is laid out on the banks of the River Browney, with each hole enveloped in its own avenues of mature trees so that it plays almost in seclusion from the rest of the course. The par-71 track measures around 6,367 yards with a slope rating of 130, and the course has matured into one of the better regarded tests in the region; its quality was recognised with the award of the English Girls' Championship in 2008, a first for the North East.

Facilities include a family-friendly clubhouse with bar, lounge and restaurant open to the public, extensive practice facilities with a 200-yard practice area, chipping green, practice bunker and two full-size warm-up nets, and a pro shop offering tuition, equipment hire and coaching. Visitors and societies are welcome throughout the year. The club lies in the village of Langley Moor just off the A690, about two miles south-west of Durham city centre and its World Heritage cathedral and castle, and is easily accessible from the A1(M).
