Golf Course Overview
Dumbarton Golf Club is one of the oldest in the West of Scotland, founded in 1888 by a group of local shipbuilders inspired by a holiday at St Andrews where they had played the Old Course. The 18-hole parkland course measures around 6,026 yards to a par of 71, and is designed to test the straightest of drivers, with mature tree-lined fairways, dog-legs and the Broadmeadow burns coming into play to catch wayward shots. The gentle, level walking ground makes it ideal for golfers of all ages and abilities.
The clubhouse offers a calendar of competitions and events, an indoor golf simulator, member discounts, and bar and dining facilities. There is a Golf Lounge for visitors, locker rooms and practice facilities. Dumbarton sits where the Leven meets the Clyde, with the course centrally located in the historic Royal Burgh, close to public transport and a short drive from Loch Lomond.
