Golf Course Overview
Dumbarnie Links opened in 2020 as one of Scotland's newest championship links, designed by former DP World Tour professional and Ryder Cup player Clive Clark on 345 acres of the historic Balcarres Estate. The course plays to a par of 72 with yardages ranging from 5,300 to 6,905 yards from standard tees, extendable to around 7,600 yards for tournament play (slope 135). Built on linksland with unique dual elevations connected by a flowing escarpment, the site rises from the shore to a high point of around 80 feet with a mile-and-a-half of sea frontage along Largo Bay. Fourteen of the 18 holes offer sea views, and the layout features three potentially drivable par-4s, generous fairways, strategic pot bunkering and plateaued greens. It hosted the Women's Scottish Open in 2021 and was named World's Best New Golf Course at the 2021 World Golf Awards.
The modern clubhouse sits almost 100 feet above sea level with panoramic views across the Bay, offering indoor and outdoor dining, a bar and a "Wee Barn" halfway house. Facilities include a full driving range, short-game area, pitching green and practice bunker, a pro shop with club and buggy hire, and a caddie service. Visitors are welcomed every day with advance booking, and reduced rates are available for Scottish and Fife residents. Located at Upper Largo on the A917 between Upper Largo and Elie, the course is just 11 miles south of St Andrews and around 50 minutes from Edinburgh Airport.

Golf Empire Verdict
Dumbarnie Golf Links
"A welcome addition to the quality offering already available in Fife."
After a couple of false starts earlier this year it was fabulous to finally get to see Dumbarnie Links. It is easy to see why it proves to be a big hit with many golfers and has debuted so high in all the rankings.
