Golf Course Overview
Drayton Park Golf Club, opened in 1993, is a Hawtree-designed parkland course set three miles south of Abingdon in the Oxfordshire countryside. The main 18-hole course measures around 6,091 yards to a par of 69 (course rating 69.0 / slope 123), with rolling fairways and undulating greens making for a substantial test even off the more modest yellow tees. The course features 55 bunkers and water in play on 10 of the 18 holes, with maturing landscaping and well-maintained sand-based greens producing excellent year-round conditions. A 9-hole par-3 academy course, manicured to the same standard with nine tricky and fast undulating greens, complements the main layout for short-game practice and junior development.
The 21-bay floodlit driving range with up-to-the-minute Trackman technology, short-game practice area, putting green, and a "best in the area" pro shop with internet price-match guarantee are major draws. The large modern clubhouse offers function and society catering with balcony views over the course, including events for weddings and parties. Visitors are welcome every day with advance booking; the Jonathan Draycott Golf Academy runs lessons on site.
