Golf Course Overview
Drayton Park Golf Club opened in 1936 on flat mature parkland that once formed part of the Drayton Manor estate. The 18-hole course was designed by five-time Open champion James Braid and, while the greens have since been re-laid to USGA standards, the layout retains its original Braid character. Playing to a par of 71 over 6,442 yards from the white tees, the course rewards accurate ball-striking, with tree-lined fairways and subtly contoured greens providing enjoyment for players of every handicap. Lichfield Cathedral's spires are visible from parts of the course on clear days.
The club welcomes visitors and societies throughout the week by arrangement, with in-house catering offering everything from a bacon sandwich to full three-course dinners for up to 100 guests. Facilities include a well-stocked pro shop, clubhouse, secure keypad parking and modern changing rooms. Drayton Park shares its entrance drive with Drayton Manor Amusement Park & Hotel, making it easy to find on the A4091 just off the A38/A446, close to Junctions 9 and 10 of the M42 and Exit T4 of the M6 Toll.

Routed across flattish parkland the course was designed and set out by James Braid, five times winner of The Open Championship, in 1935. The picturesque property was formerly part of the Drayton Manor estate, the seat of the Peel family; of which Sir Robert Peel, founder of the police force, was the most famous member. The Club itself was founded in 1897 and played at two other locations prior to moving to its present grounds.
