Golf Course Overview
Douglas Park Golf Club, founded in 1897, is a parkland course set in the leafy Bearsden suburb of Glasgow. The 18-hole layout — credited variously to Will Gibson with later input from Willie Fernie around 1903 — measures approximately 5,962 yards and plays to a par of 69 for gents (72 for ladies). Mature trees frame the fairways and the recently upgraded USGA-specification greens provide reliable putting surfaces throughout the year. The course is undulating but very walkable, providing a fair challenge for golfers of all standards.
The recently refurbished clubhouse offers a light, welcoming main lounge with views over the course, bar and dining facilities, and there is an indoor swing studio for year-round practice. The pro shop is well stocked and the club runs vibrant junior coaching and "Get into Golf" programmes. Visitors are welcomed every day, and Douglas Park sits just five miles from Glasgow city centre, easily reached from Hillfoot rail station.
