Golf Course Overview

Donnington Grove Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course designed by the renowned architect Dave Thomas and opened in 1993, set within a 500-acre estate on the outskirts of Newbury overlooked by the historic Donnington Castle. The course stretches to around 7,108 yards with a par of 72 and has hosted EuroPro Tour events. The River Lambourn winds through the layout, and the two nines are distinctly different in character — the front nine plays over higher, more undulating ground while the back nine offers a more traditional parkland test with trees and water hazards coming into play. Precision off the tee is rewarded on the tree-lined fairways.

Facilities include a floodlit, covered and heated driving range, a fully stocked pro shop with on-site custom club fitting, and tuition from a team of PGA professionals led by Director of Golf Tom Fleming. The site also operates as a country house hotel and wedding venue, making it popular for stay-and-play packages, corporate and society days. Donnington Grove lies just over two miles from Newbury town centre and close to Junction 13 of the M4 and the A34, with an on-site helicopter landing pad also available.
