Golf Course Overview
Dereham Golf Club traces its origins back to 1934 and occupies a well-manicured parkland site on the outskirts of the market town of Dereham. The course is a classic 9-hole layout that plays as 18 from 17 different tee positions, giving the course a par of 71 and a measured length of around 6,099 yards when played twice round. The variety is best shown at the 5th, which plays as a 432-yard par 4 stroke index 1 on the front nine before becoming the 14th, a 515-yard par 5, on the way home. The fairways wind through mature parkland and the greens are known for being small, quick and true.
The traditional clubhouse overlooks the first tee and final green and offers a relaxed lounge bar, a separate dining area and a patio for warmer days. Dereham is a friendly members' club that welcomes green-fee visitors and societies, and it is part of the Norfolk Nine Hole Alliance giving members reduced play at other 9-hole courses in the county. The course is signposted on the B1146 Fakenham and Holt road on the edge of town, roughly ten miles west of Norwich, and sits within easy reach of the north Norfolk coast.
