Golf Course Overview

Dean Wood Golf Club is a picturesque parkland course located in the heart of Lancashire between the rural villages of Up Holland and Orrell, designed by the legendary five-times Open Champion James Braid and opened in 1922. The 18-hole course measures 6,091 yards at a par of 71, with rolling fairways through 120 acres of scenic parkland offering a variety of uphill, downhill, and side-hill lies that ensure no two holes play alike. The AA Golfing Guide has described it as "one of the jewels of Lancashire's inland courses" — high praise in a county renowned for its golf.

Located between the M6 and M58 with easy access from Wigan and Bolton, Dean Wood is a genuinely welcoming club that holds several popular open competitions each year, drawing visitors back time and again. The resident PGA professional provides coaching, club fitting, and a full pro shop service.
