Golf Course Overview

The Dartmouth Golf & Country Club opened in 1992 to a design by British architect Jeremy Pern, who used the naturally undulating terrain together with water hazards and elevated tees to create two contrasting layouts. The Championship Course plays to a par of 72 and can stretch as far as 7,200 yards from the back markers, with strategic tee positioning, meandering streams, 12 water features and undulating greens; the demanding par-5 4th, guarded by a stream, a steep bank and two ponds, is widely regarded as the toughest hole on the course. The shorter nine-hole Dartmouth Course measures 2,252 yards and plays to a par of 33, built to the same standard as its sister layout and offering a relaxed alternative for shorter rounds or quieter visits.

The Championship Course has hosted the West Region PGA Championships on six occasions and has featured in Golf Monthly's UK Top 100 Hidden Gems list. Facilities include a three-star 35-bedroom hotel, a spa, a pro shop, a bar, a bistro and a driving range, with society packages and corporate golf days available. The resort sits near Blackawton on the B3207, less than 15 minutes from the naval town of Dartmouth and around 20 minutes south of Totnes.
